St Josephs Church, Singapore
At the St.Josephs Church, the country’s Catholic society remembers Jesus Christ’s fructification on every Friday with a procession at this church ground. In the year 1825 the Portuguese mission was founded by Father Francisco de Silva e Maia at the same place where the present day St.Joseph’s Church. is located. This Church is the first place of worship by the Catholics. The old church was destroyed in the year 1906. The present day church was opened in the year 1912. This architectural wonder is designed in the shape of a Latin cross. It wonderfully brags expertise glass windows. In the year 1993, the St. Josephs Church was gazetted as a preservation structure.
